Unlike conventional pond algae control methods, which often rely on harsh chemicals that can destroy aquatic life and harm a pond’s ecosystem, our approach is more organic. Aquafix pond water treatment products are comprised of bacteria, catalysts, and biostimulants that help degrade pond muck and sludge. Our products work on floating muck mats, slime, and dead organics while they clarify the water. Our products help to reduce your dependence on harsh chemicals. In short, our products recycle organic matter through the environment faster and improve a pond's balance. For really bad problems with algae, our product can be blended in with Cutraine, Hydrothol, or other Aquatic Herbicides to clean up the water column.

PondZilla, after being mixed with Aquatic herbicides in a tank, is applied to pond water.
Which bacteria is right?
When we culture and blend our products, we blend them for growth rate. The key to any product is applying them into a pond and having them grow fast and steadily. When this occurs, we can get great impact in a pond system. Growth rate is everything. Part of getting that growth rate is making sure a blend of bacteria is not dominated in percentage by a particular species. The other part is knowing which micronutrients and biostimulants to blend in, and at what proportion. We spend as much time understanding this mechanism as we do growing the bacteria.
There are different strains for different substrates, temperatures, and nutrient levels. One product does not fit all in the bacterial kingdom. Send us a sample of your lagoon or pond water, and Deborah, our microbiologist, will test our products to see what works for you. She routinely receives samples from troubled ponds across the country and she helps customers diagnose what is causing a particular problem so they know exactly how to handle it.
Call us at 1-888-757-9577 with your worst pond problem. We can help you understand the mechanism.
*While bacterial products cannot kill aquatic plant growth, when used with algaecides or herbicides, they can help restore natural balance.
Testimonials
“We get hundreds of visitors each month. It’s imperative our ponds look their best. I have tried other products but always come back to ‘the Bugman.’ Their products are potent and their technical service is excellent.” – Mel, California Winery Pond
“Wow, powerful product! We have used others but none have had this kind of impact. Our pond was a mess, we added a couple packets, and wham! A few days later, it cleaned right up.” –George H., Charleston SC (www.algaecontrol.us)
“Your lab helped us understand the dynamics of a pond with a hydrodictyon issue, many thanks.” –Al, Illinois
“We were monitoring nitrate levels when we started adding your product, and we could not believe how they went down.” -Michigan customer
“Our ponds are always have an emerald color. This year we are adding VitaStim 6000LM and the pond clarity is exceptional. Funny part is it's been a very hot summer so you think our problem would be worse.” - Scott, Wisconsin Rendering Facility

PondZilla is very effective, when used as an adjunct to an algaecide or herbacide*, at controlling filmantous bacteria in ponds such as cladophora.

DAZZeL De-Sulph-A-Nator is a reactive odor control agent that functions by encapsulating odorous sulfides and mercaptans, rapidly trapping them in an irreversible reaction. DAZZeL DSN contains a molecular structure that reacts with the sulfide molecule.
